
Beckley Bash Post 32 American Legion Hammers Buckhannon

Buckhannon - On a night where scores looked more like football than baseball, Beckley Bash Post 32 opened the 2025 American Legion Baseball season with an emphatic doubleheader sweep of Buckhannon Post 7 at Hank Ellis Field.
Beckley scored 36 runs across the two games to take 16-1 and 20-6 wins. Both games ended after five innings.
The theme of the night for the Bash was big innings.

In game one Beckley scored six runs in the second and third innings before adding four more in fourth.
Jake Meadows, Brayden Kiblinger and Cole Cunningham each had three RBI, while Kadyn Hines collected two hits, driving in one run.
Cole Brown was stellar on the hill allowing only three hits and striking out six.
Game two was more of the same with the Bash scoring six runs in the first inning, three in the second, seven in the fourth and five in the fifth.
Meadows went 3-for-3 with two RBI, along with Degan Williams who also had three hits and two RBI.
Kiblinger and Grayson Kesterson each netted two hits and had two RBI. Levi Barnett had a two-run triple.
Meadows came on to pitch 1.2 innings of scoreless baseball, while Sam Barnett closed out the fifth with three strikeouts.
Brown, Williams and Hines each had a double.

The Beckley Bash is back on the field Wednesday at Linda K. Epling Stadium for its home opener against the Beckley Top Prospects Jr. Legion team. First pitch is 6 p.m.
