
Beckley standouts Stewart, Snyder and Fayiah sign to play at the next level

Tuesday was busy day at Woodrow Wilson High School with a total of six athletes signing an Institutional Letter of Intent to play at the next level.
After wrestlers Jimmie Bailes, Tyler Roark and Garrett Johnson added their names to the list of future college athletes, Christian Stewart, Tyler Snyder and Michael Fayiah made it official later in the afternoon.
Stewart and Fayiah Will be attending Concord University, playing football and soccer, respectively. Snyder will make the trip across the Mason-Dixon Line to Allegany College of Maryland.
Concord University football has a new coach this year in Cody Edwards who made an instant impact on Stewart who will bring some blazing speed to the Mountain Lions on the outside and in the return game.
The Woodrow Wilson senior owns the fifth fastest time in the 100 meter dash. Stewart is also a member of the Flying Eagles 4x100 meter relay team that will go to the state meet as the favorite.
Stewart talked about his decision to head to Athens.
Beckley head coach Street Sarrett also gave his thoughts on his former player.
Snyder and Fayiah were key players in the state championship run for Beckley. Snyder frustrated opponents with his work on set pieces, while he was a constant scoring threat. Fayiah also had the assist on the game winning goal in the semifinal state tournament win against Wheeling Park.
Both players, along with head coach Steve Laraba discussed their high school success and their future endeavors.
