Little League Baseball: Central Greenbrier and Sophia Win

Lewisburg - Wednesday night in District 4 Little League All-Star Baseball action, Central Greenbrier hosted Shady Spring in the winner's bracket with a trip to the championship game on the line.
The hometown boys exploded out of the gate and raced past the visitors, 12-2 in five innings.
With the win, Central Greenbrier also secured a spot in the West Virginia Little League State Tournament in Elkins, starting July 12.
Central Greenbrier took a 3-0 lead in the first frame and never looked back.
Hendo Bostic singled home Trenton Skaggs for the first of his four RBI's in the game, and then scored on a single from Cam Bechtel.
Zander Rodoussakis increased the advantage to 3-0, scoring later in the first at-bat.
After Rodoussakis pitched a scoreless first, Central Greenbrier exploded for six more run in the second.

The big blast came from Bostic who hit his second home run in as many days, this one a three-run blast to centerfield.
Prior to Bostic's big fly, Skaggs knocked in two runs with a single.
Skaggs ended the night 3-for-3 with three RBI's, including a double.
Bechtel and Tucker Sibold both had two hits and an RBI.
The bright spot for Shady Spring came off the bat of Greyson Walls who launched a two-run homer.
The pitch to Walls was the only real mistake that Rodoussakis made over his five innings, allowing only four hits to red-hot Shady Spring bats.

For the second night in a row, Sophia staved off elimination in dramatic fashion.
Following a sixth-inning home run from Jax Harris Tuesday to break a 4-4 tie in a win over Beckley, Sammy Sallaz stepped into the spotlight Wednesday.
With the game tied 5-5, Sallaz launched a solo blast, his second of the season, for the eventual game-winner in a 7-5 victory over Princeton.

Shady Spring and Sophia will now meet Thursday night for a berth in the championship game and a guaranteed spot in the Little League State Tournament.
Brady Mills had two RBI's for Sophia, while Blake Stewart, Dylan Frazier and Bryson Harmon collected two hits apiece.
