Bluefield - Wyoming East took a 4-0 lead through two innings and held on for an 8-5 win over Westside Tuesday in Class AA Region 3, Section 1 play.

Victoria Smith was perfect at the play with three hits and an RBI, while Carli Raye collected three hits in four at-bats to pace the Warriors.

Kaydee Shrewsbury added two hits and drove in one run. Reagan Bower had a double and an RBI.

Wyoming East (12-9) advances to the championship round and will play Mingo Central Wednesday.

The Lady Miners were an 8-7 winner over the Renegades in an elimination game Tuesday night.

Wyoming East need one win to secure the sectional title.
