Beckley sweeps a doubleheader 11-1 and 10-0 from the Post 97 Commanders

Beckley Bash Post 32 flexed its muscle Wednesday night to sweep the Post 97 Commanders in a doubleheader at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

Eli Green and Layne Lambert combined for a no-hitter with 11 total strikeouts in the 11-1 win in game one before Eli Hilling and Kayden Quesenberry worked together on a 1-hitter in a 10-0 win in game two.

Aided by a couple of Beckley errors in the first frame of game one, Post 97 scored its only run of the night to open the contest.

The Bash answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, while adding three runs in the third and six runs in the fifth for the win.

Miken Smyth, Levi Barnett and Nelson Lynch each had two RBI's. Smyth was 2-3 on the night with a triple, while Barnett was 1-1 with a double.

Kadyn Hines had a double and an RBI, along with Landon Wyatt who had an RBI.

Green covered two innings with four K's, while Lambert cleaned up the final three frames with seven K's.

Two big innings highlighted game two with Beckley erupting for six runs in the third inning and closing the game out with four more in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Hines had another double and two RBI's, while Zach Hunt and Aidan Miller both drove in a pair of runs.

Barnett also hit his second double of the night and had an RBI. Aiden Calvert was 2-2 with a triple and an RBI. Gage Price had an RBI as well.

Hilling pitched four innings allowing no hits with seven K's to get the win on the mound.

Beckley Bash Post 32 is back in action Saturday when it hosts the Doddridge Summer Dawgs in a doubleheader at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
