
Beckley Post 32 Junior Legion one win away from a State Championship Title
Beckley Post 32 hurlers record back-to-back shutouts Friday and Saturday


Bridgeport - Strong pitching and solid hitting have been the highlights for Beckley Post 32 Top Prospects at the American Junior Legion State Tournament.
The Beckley boys now stand one win away from being crowned State Champions.
Following a 5-0 win over Morgantown Post 2 Friday night, Beckley Post 32 recorded another shutout win Saturday, beating Wheeling Post 1, 9-0.
Post 32 will now play in the championship series starting Sunday with the time still to be determined.
PikeView all-state selection Eli Hilling took the mound Saturday and pitched 5.1 innings, surrendering just three hits while striking out 12 batters to earn the win.
Brayden Keith closed out the victory going 1.2 innings, allowing zero hits with two strikeouts.
Wyoming East all-stater Miken Smyth jump-started Beckley Saturday with a two-run homer in the first inning for all the runs the pitchers needed.

Gage Price had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Micah Cuthbert had a three-hit day and drove in one run.
Brady Williams also had 2 hits for Beckley, while Keith and Sam Barnett both had a hit and an RBI.
Friday night, it was Barnett throwing a gem. The Shady Spring all-state selection hurled four no-hit innings for the win, striking out five batters.
Williams and Jacob Claypool combined for the final two scoreless innings.
Williams also had a double and an RBI, while Barnett had two hits, including a double.
Noah Fox added an RBI.
