
Beckley Post 32 Legion Teams Sweep Florida Gulf Coast Prospects

Beckley Post 32 Top Prospects Junior Legion and Beckley Bash Post 32 Senior Legion both picked up wins Monday at Linda K. Epling Stadium over Florida Gulf Coast Prospects guided by former Greenbrier East standout and Major League Baseball player Seth McClung.
The Post 32 Junior Legion team opened the doubleheader with an 11-4 win over FGCP Black 16U.
Jacob Claypool shined at the plate with three hits, including a double, and four RBI's. Micah Cuthbert collected two and two RBI's, while Miken Smyth also had a pair of hits and one RBI.

Clay Patton smacked a double as part of his two-hit night and also drove in a run.
Landon Wyatt earned the win pitching three innings, surrendering two hits and only one earned run.
Post 32 broke the game open with five runs in the bottom of the third inning where Claypool doubled home two runs and later stole home. Cuthbert also had an RBI-single in the uprising.
In the nightcap, the Bash snapped a four-game slide with a 9-6 win over FGCP 18U. Beckley never trailed in the contest, but could never get quite comfortable with the lead either.
Zach Hunt had a triple, a double and an RBI to pace the Bash hitters. Zion Detko and Cole Brown also had a triple, while Aiden Calvert ripped a double.
Brown, Detko, Ashton Cochran, Levi Barnett, Grayson Kesterson and Kadyn Hines all had an RBI.
Cole Cunningham picked up the win going three innings, allowing just three hits and two earned runs.
