
District 4 Little League Baseball Roundup: Big Night for Central Greenbrier All-Stars; Shady Spring beats Princeton

Monday night there was no place like home for the Central Greenbrier Little League Baseball All-Stars.
The 8-10 All-Stars opened the night by grabbing the District 4 championship with a 12-2 win over Shady Spring in four innings at Hollowell Park.
Central Greenbrier did not lose a game in District play and advances, along with Shady Spring, to state tournament in Huntington, July 4.
In the nightcap, the 11-12 All-Stars never trailed in a 13-5 win over Sophia in a winner's bracket contest.
The victory gave Central Greenbrier 11-12 All-Stars, three wins in three days and places them one win away from the championship game and a guaranteed spot in the Little League State Tournament.
Central Greenbrier banged out 13 hits and was aided by six Sophia errors in the contest.

Hendo Bostic had three hits on the night, including a solo home run, and had two RBI for CGLL.
Trenton Skaggs, Cam Bechtel, Dawson Holliday and Tucker Sibold each had two hits.
Holliday had a double and one RBI, while pitching the final four innings, allowing just two runs to keep Sophia at bay.
Jake Myers had a double and an RBI for Sophia. Brayden Emmert drove in two runs.
Central Greenbrier will now play Shady Spring Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Shady Spring knocked off Princeton 11-6 Monday led by a four-RBI night from Greyson Walls and Cash Boggs.
Three of the RBI's for Boggs came on a inside the park home run, while Walls collected two hits, including a double.
Levi Pack and Landrie James both had two hits in the win. Pack's night included a double and an RBI.
Sophia will meet Beckley Tuesday in an elimination game at 8 p.m.
