Shady Spring took control of its game immediately scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Walks haunted Bluefield early leading to the first run of the game, but following a double play, Bluefield appeared ready to escape the damage.

However, two more walks and a two-RBI double from Cohen Thomas made it 5-0. Asher Pugh singled home the final run of the inning and Shady Spring was never threatened the rest of the way.

Lincoln Cook and Corbin Mounts also had an RBI, while Dayton Ballew ripped a double.

Carter Cooper, Grayson Walls and Park Winkler all pitched two innings, allowing only two hits, while striking out 14 batters.
