
Historic day for West Virginia at Mid-Atlantic Junior Boys Invite
The boys from the Mountain State win the championship for the first time in the 17-year history

Charles Town - For the first time in the 17-year history of the Mid-Atlantic Junior Boys Invitational, West Virginia brought home the championship title.
After holding a four-shot lead after the first round, West Virginia held on Sunday to defeat Virginia and Maryland in the Invitational played at Locust Hill Golf Club in Charles Town, WV.
The Mountain State crew shot a team total of +31 to beat the boys from the Old Dominion State by two shots.
Maryland was third at +58.
Tommy Evans (Washington HS) led West Virginia with a 71 (1-under) to earn low medalist honors at 137 (7-under) for the two-day event.
Sunday's scoring players along with Evans were Isaac Hayes (73, Hurricane HS), Tyler Beard (75, Shady Spring HS), Cam Fallon (75, Parkersburg South HS), Cooper Ward (77, Shady Spring HS) and Justus Mann (83, Chapmanville HS).
