Bluefield - The Panthers erased a 4-0 deficit to defeat Tazewell, Va. 8-4 in the 3rd-place game of the Allen D. Coppinger Tournament Saturday at Bowen Field.

Trenton Tolliver and Braden Huggins each drove in two runs for PikeView, while Christian Walters had a double. Eli Naylor and Eli Hilling also had one RBI each.

Brayden Roberts and Brody Meyers had two hits apiece for the Bulldogs.

Landon Bolen pitched the final 4 1/3 innings for the Panthers (11-1), scattering four hits, while surrendering no runs to Tazewell.

James Monroe 5, Graham, Va. 1

Bluefield - The Mavericks plated foru runs in the top of the third inning enroute to a 5-1 win over Graham, Va. in the 5th-place game of the Allen D. Coppinger Tournament Saturday at Bowen Field.

Brody Barreras had two RBI for James Monroe, while Cameron Crislip, Peyton Gardinier and Baylee Ridgeway had one RBI each.

Brycen Parker and Gardinier each had a double. Gardinier was also named to the Coppinger All-Tournament team.

Brayden Wooldridge had a triple for the G-men and Tristan Shupe hit a double.

Christiansburg, Va. 7, Woodrow Wilson 2

Bluefield - The Flying Eagles surrendered five first innings run and suffered a 7-2 loss to Christiansburg, Va. in the title game of the Allen D. Coppinger Tournament Saturday at Bowen Field.

Tyler Wilhite had a double and triple, while Gage Price hit a double. Drew Gallaher and Brady Williams had one RBI each for Woodrow.

Charlie Bolling drove in two runs for the Blue Demons. Gavin Dow and Logan Roberts each had two hits (double) and an RBI.

Parker Williams, Drew Gallaher and Maddox Sims were named to the All-Coppinger Team.

Greenbrier East 4, Independence 3

Fairlea - Greenbrier East took a 4-0 lead through five innings in a key regional battle with Independence and held off the Patriots 4-3 Saturday night at Spartan Yards.

Nelson Lynch had a solo home run for the Spartans, while Brady May and Ashton Cochran each had an RBI. Zion Detko collected two hits, including a double. Eli Green had a triple and recorded 10 strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of work. Braden Teaney came on to record the save.

Degan Williams and Cole Cunningham had two hits each for the Patriots. Orion Wills, Reid Warden and Hunter Milam all had an RBI.

Cunningham was the tough-luck losing pitcher, allowing just two earned runs.

East over Indy

Logan 8, Wyoming East 1

New Richmond - Logan never trailed in an 8-1 win over Wyoming East in a battle of top-10 Class AA teams at the War Zone.

Talan Thompson and Brentley Williams had three hits apiece, while Jayce Wolfe had two hits, including a double and two RBI for the Wildcats. Alton Ellis also had two RBI for the visitors.

Zach Hunt had a hit and the only RBI for the Warriors (9-2). Gaige Cooper had two hits, while Miken Smyth and Talan Muscari had one hit apiece.
