Generals defeat Charleston Catholic 56-44 to win the Pepsi Division Championship at The Little General Battle for the Armory

Winfield used a strong fourth quarter to break open a tight, back-and-forth contest for a 56-44 victory over Charleston Catholic Tuesday, winning the Pepsi Division championship at the Little General Battle for the Armory.

Taking a three-point advantage into the final stanza, the Generals outscored the Irish 19-10 to separate the contest

Mydan Oglesby paced Winfield with 15 points and Owen Taylor scored 11. Brody Ilderton recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

William Gruse had 22 for Charleston Catholic. Zaden Ranson followed with 16 points and had eight rebounds.

Generals head coach Travis Tarr discussed the win in Beckley.
