HS Football: Beckley snaps five-game skid to Parkersburg South

Flying Eagles beat the Patriots for the first time since 1982

Parkersburg - Beckley scored 21 points in the final quarter to pull away from Parkersburg South in a 31-7 win over the Patriots.

A.J. Thomas recovered a fumble in the end zone and Vince Umberger nailed a 32-yard field goal to give the Flying Eagles a 10-0 lead at the break.

Beckley broke the contest open with a 35-yard touchdown pass from Gage Price to Preston Clary and a four-yard keeper from Price for a 24-7 lead midway through the final period.

Gage Burdette capped the scoring with a 45-yard fumble return for a touchdown.

Beckley (2-1) travels to Mitchell Stadium next week to battle Bluefield (2-1)
