Brock Green throws for three second half scores as the Patriots pull away

Marietta, Ohio - Class AA No. 1 Independence remained undefeated with a 42-21 win over Barnesville, Ohio Friday night.

Brock Green threw for four touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Patriots.

Green found K.J. Viars on a 22-yard pass before scoring on a six-yard run in the first half.

Christian Linksweiler caught the first of two second half strikes before Green found Kaden Bradbury on a 60-yard score.

Green was 25-34 for 403 yards and ran for 48 more in the win.

Sylas Nelson opened the scoring for Independence with a three-yard run. Nelson rushed for 130 yards on 13 carries.

The Patriots defense sealed the win by pitching a shutout over the final two quarters of play.

Independence (7-0) travels to AAA No. 2 Princeton Friday.
