Hinton - Class AA No. 3 Independence scored 56 unanswered points to defeat Summers County in a game that was called at halftime.

Brock Green threw for 273 yards and six touchdowns to guide the Patriots on a wet and sloppy night.

Christian Linksweiler (42, 55, 40) was on the end of three touchdown passes and K.J. Viars hauled in two scoring strikes (27, 20). Landon Phalin also had a touchdown grab from five yards out.

Paxton Myers scored on a 71-yard run and Kaden Bradbury returned a punt 48-yards for a touchdown.
