HS Softball: Brehm shines in Independence win over Greenbrier East

Fairlea - Paytin Brehm collected 3 hits and an RBI, while pitching a 3-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead Independence past regional rival Greenbrier East, 8-1 Saturday.

The Patriots' 15-hit attack also included two hits each from Kassidy Bradbury, Ava Parks Emma Lilly, Bella Lilly and Emma Simpson.

Emma Lilly had a double and drove in three runs, while Parks, Bella Lilly and Simpson had one RBI each. Bradbury also had a double and made a stellar catch to end the game.

The Patriots open sectional tournament play next week.
