HS Volleyball: Mount Hope Christian aims to repeat as WVCAT champions
The Warriors will battle Volleyball public school powers this season

After compiling a 16-6 record two years ago, Mount Hope Christian rattled off 25 wins in 2024 on its way to the West Virginia Christian Athletic Tournament Championship (WVCAT).
With all their players back except for one graduated senior, the Warriors are now looking for another championship banner in 2025.
The lone loss last year for Mount Hope Christian was a tight five-set match to Jefferson Christian Academy.
In the 25 wins, the Warriors only dropped six sets, beating Calvary Baptist Academy, 3-0 in the championship match.
Mady Sole dropped 354 kills across 81 sets to lead MHCA in her sophomore season, followed by freshman McKenna Jones with 253 winners and sophomore Sophia Pack with 184 kills.
As a team, the Warriors average 11 kills per set.
Freshman Joely Mankin led the team in assists with 495, followed by Pack with 250.
With a limited roster last year, balance was the key to success for Mount Hope in regards to digs and receptions.
This year, Mount Hope Christian has added several big name public schools to the schedule including Woodrow Wilson, Spring Valley, Hurricane, Independence and Wyoming East.
Head coach Ashley Sole talked with me about her team and the upcoming season.
