Thursday night at Beckley Little League Park it was a winner take all clash between Trap Hill and Sophia.

With the District 4 Little League All-Star Softball title on the line, Trap Hill held on to beat Sophia 7-6 to win the championship.

Both teams qualify for the West Virginia Little League Softball State Tournament played at South Charleston starting July 4.

After both teams traded runs in the first inning, Trap Hill started to pull away in the second frame.

Gabbie Epling singled to open the at-bat and eventually stole home for a 2-1 Trap Hill lead.

Adriana Lamone then doubled, scoring the second run of the inning prior to stealing home for a 4-1 advantage.

Trap Hill moved out to a 7-1 lead an inning later when Charly Pettry stole home in front of Chloe Dodson's inside the park home run, scoring two more.

Down to its final three outs, Sophia found some magic and came storming back.

Jersey Martin singled home the first run before she scored on a base hit from Addison Rhodes. Lillian Shrewsbury trimmed the deficit to three runs with a two-out, RBI-single.

Meghan Guzman then doubled to move Shrewsbury to third. Shrewsbury promptly stole home and Guzman scored on a double from Liza Kapp.

Unfortunately for Sophia, the rally ended on a ground ball out.
