
Regional Cross Country: Beckley shines at AAAA South regional
Kyle Peters wins the AAAA South Regional individual title followed by Vance Lindley in sixth

Huntington - Saturday at the Kennedy Center, the first-ever AAAA South Regional Cross Country Championship was contested.
It was a great day for Woodrow Wilson.
Junior Kyle Peters had the biggest highlight of the day winning the boys overall individual title, leading the Flying Eagles to a third-place finish and berth in the state meet next Saturday at Cabell Midland High School.
Peters was flanked by Vance Lindley who finished sixth. Ethan Houck was 16th, followed by Drew Breeden (22nd) and Chayse Dominick (34th).
Lindley, Houck, Breeden and Dominick all had personal best times Saturday.
Tyler Cook and Alex Mullins also recorded a personal best run for the Flying Eagles.
The Woodrow girls started the day on a positive note by qualifying six runners for the state meet.
Lakin Houck, Lillian Bostwick, ZiMeng Ren, McKinley Kennedy and Violet Hartsock all recorded personal best times, while Leah White had a season record time.
