
Regional Cross Country: Greenbrier West's Jesse Walkup wins Class A Region 3 boys title
Cavaliers qualify three runners for the state meet; Webster County wins the team title

Clear Fork - Saturday afternoon, Greenbrier West junior Jesse Walkup ran a personal best time on the trails at Westside High School.
Walkup could not have picked a better day.
By running the course in a time of 18:27.30, Walkup bested the field by nearly 30 seconds to become the 2025 Class A Region 3 individual champion.


Walkup with join teammates Elijah Russell (right) in 3rd-place and Dominic Mandeville (left) in 5th-place at the State Cross Country Meet next Saturday at Cabell Midland High School.
Webster County secured the regional team title, while Richwood was second. Both teams qualify for the state meet.
Dean Ryan from Meadow Bridge and Curtis West from Mount View earned the two remaining individual qualifying positions Saturday.

Jasmine White from Webster County was the girls Class A Region 3 champion followed by teammate Karley Varney (2nd) and Brynann Crist from Richwood (3rd). All three runners qualified for the state meet as individuals.
Mount View captured the regional team title.
