
Regional Girls Soccer: Oak Hill tops Hurricane for historic win
Lady Red Devils beat the Redskins 3-1 for first-ever state tournament berth

Oak Hill - Thursday night at John P. Duda Stadium, the Oak Hill girls soccer team was in search of history.
Following a highly successful season, the Lady Red Devils stood one away from advancing to the state tournament for the first time in school history.
History never comes easy.

Trailing 1-0 through nearly 60 minutes, Oak Hill scored the equalizer in the 58th minute and secured the win with two goals in the final six minutes of the match for the 3-1 win over Hurricane.
State Tournament seeding will be announced Friday morning. The AAAA girls semifinals will be played in the evening session next Thursday. The championship match will be played at approximately 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.
The scoring for the home team started when Freshman Kenzie Allen knocked in a loose ball off of a corner kick from senior Jade Wilburn to even the match.
The Lady Red Devils then took their first lead of the contest on a free kick from Wilburn which found freshman Aubrey Conley. Conley proceeded to score the eventual game-winner in the 74th minute of the match.
Oak Hill sealed the historic night when leading scorer Bella Holly received a pass from Serenity Bourgord and outmaneuvered the Redskins keeper for the final goal.
