
WV leads at 17th annual Junior Boys Invitational
Washington High School junior Tommy Evans shoots 6-under and is the individual leader

The West Virginia team leads after the first day of 17th Mid-Atlantic Junior Boys’ Invitational Saturday.
The 17th annual Mid-Atlantic Junior Boys’ Invitational started today at Locust Hill Golf Course in Charles Town, and featured teams from West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia.
Following the first day of play, Team West Virginia (+9) leads Virginia (+13) by four strokes and Maryland by 11 strokes (+20)
Each team has eight members, and the top six scores are used for each round of play, contributing to the overall score.
West Virginia team members include Tyler Beard of Lewisburg (Shady Spring HS), Tommy Evans of Charles Town (Washington HS), Cameron Fallon of Parkersburg (Parkersburg South HS), Isaac Hayes of Hurricane (Hurricane HS), Isaac Hutchison of Lewisburg (Greenbrier East HS), Justus Mann of Chapmanville (Chapmanville HS), Carson Sergent of Huntington (Cabell Midland HS), and Cooper Ward of Beaver (Shady Spring HS).
Individually, Tommy Evans finished first at six under par (-6) 66.

Other Team West Virginia members finishing in the top ten were Cooper Ward, tied for second at two under par (-2) 70, and Cameron Fallon, tied for sixth at two over par (+2) 74.
