WVCEA HS Championships: Summit Christian completes historic day with boys and girls title wins
Falcons sweep Grace Christian in both high school championship games

Saturday, inside the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center, was a historic day for Summit Christian Academy.
The Falcons played their way into four championship games at the West Virginia Christian Education Association Basketball Tournament and proceeded to grab the title banner in all four classes.
After the middle school girls and boys won their championships earlier in the day, the high school teams did their part with a girls and boys sweep of Grace Christian.
Both teams garnered double-digit wins.
Following a sluggish start in the girls championship tilt, which saw the Lady Falcons trailing 10-9 after one quarter, defense turned to offense and Summit raced out to a 28-13 lead at the break.
The senior duo of Jocelyn Hall and Jordin Hawks keyed the burst scoring six points each in the quarter.
Four points apiece from Hall, Hawks and sophomore Abby Greer led to a 16-4 edge in the third period en route to a 51-32 win.
Ella Botts paced the Lady Falcons with 15 points, 12 coming in the first half. Hall finished with 12 points, while Hawks and Greer had 10 points each.
The boys battle was controlled by Summit Christian from the start, but was never completely in doubt all night.
The Falcons led by nine points after one quarter and by 15 at the break.
Grace Christian never folded in the second half, however, and threatened to push the game back inside single digits, but the Soldiers could never get across that threshold.
Junior Eli Patton ruled the day for the Falcons pouring in 22 points and was joined by three teammates in double figures.
Dylan Jones netted 13 points, while Kyler Carpenter scored 11 and Adam Jones had 10 points.
Hall was named the girls tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament team by Botts and Hawks. Tia Harris and Emma Tidd represented Grace Christian, along with Avery Evans (Elk Valley Christian) and Grace Ward (Victory Baptist Academy).
Dylan Jones - who was named the boys tournament MVP - led the boys All-Tournament team along with Eli Patton and Bo Patton. The remainder of the team included Brye Ray (Grace Christian), Garrett Bailey (Grace Christian), Nathan Dillon (Victory Baptist) and Collin Martin (Cross Lanes Christian)
