Lady Falcons top Victory Baptist, while the boys rally past Elk Valley Christian

Summit Christian Academy swept the Middle School division of the West Virginia Christian Education Association Basketball Tournament played Saturday inside the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.

The girls team cruised past Victory Baptist Academy 42-10 led by Bethany Honaker with 13 points and Aubrey Neal with 12 points.

The championship ride for the boys was not that simple.

Elk Valley raced out to 15-point lead in the first quarter and took a 28-16 advantage into the locker room.

In the third quarter the Falcons came roaring back, outscoring the Eagles 20-7 to take a 36-35 lead.

The final period was a back-and-forth battle with the Falcons pulling away for thrilling 49-46 win.

Eli Parks led Summit with 20 points, scoring 13 in the decisive second half. Case Turner added eight points and Luke Murnahan tossed in seven points.

Levi Evans paced Elk Valley with 18 points, while Eli Hines scored 12 and Matthew Ware had 10.

The girls All-Tournament team included Aubrey Neal, Aubrey Price and Tournament MVP Bethany Honaker, all from Summit. They were joined by Aubrey Workman and Bella Tuck from Victory Baptist, along with Abriella Vance (Elk Valley Christian) and Bridgett Vance (Beth Haven Christian).

The boys All-Tournament team consisted of Summit Christian standouts Sam Botts, Levi Evans and Luke Murnahan (MVP). Levi Evans and Eli Hines represented Elk Valley, while Luke Dillon was honored from Victory Baptist, along with Liam Smith from Morgantown Christian.
