2025 HS Football Preview: Greenbrier West

Cavaliers eye a return the State Football Postseason

Prior to last season, Greenbrier West had made the State High School Football Playoffs five straight seasons with a trip to the championship game in 2023.

Beset by a rash of injuries and a difficult schedule, the Cavaliers finished 5-5, barely missing the playoffs.

Naturally the goal is to get back to the norm in Charmco this year, but there are gaps to fill and some question marks in key places.

Greenbrier West will be young, but it also returns quality veteran leadership.

As head coach Kelly Vaughan has said in the past, you have to get a little luck to make the big dance.

If the Cavaliers can stay healthy for the most part and get a bounce or two go their way, a postseason trip is a very good possibility for the 2025 team.
